Carter Gustin
Leukemia
Our family has always supported the mission of the GRACE Cancer Foundation, never imagining we’d one day need their help. In June 2025, our 13-year-old son, Carter, was diagnosed with leukemia, and life changed overnight.
GRACE Cancer Foundation showed up almost immediately with a care bag, a beautiful quilt, a water bottle, and fidgets for the boys. It was a small gesture that reminded us we weren’t alone.
By September, Carter was responding well to treatment, and I joined other cancer moms at the GRACE Cancer Foundation golf tournament. Spending time with women who truly understood our journey brought laughter and hope I didn’t realize I needed. GRACE Cancer Foundation doesn’t just provide financial help, they build community and connection when it matters most.
Later that fall, when our car needed new tires for the many trips to Omaha, GRACE Cancer Foundation stepped in again. One quick email, and by Monday, our car was ready to go. Their kindness and care lifted a huge weight from our shoulders.
We are so grateful for the comfort, support, and strength GRACE Cancer Foundation has given our family. Their generosity has been a light in one of the hardest seasons of our lives.
