Welcome!

What is the GRACE Foundation?

Grand Island Area Cancer Endowment was established to assist local cancer patients, survivors and their families.

GRACE Foundation was established in 2008 as a member of the Grand Island Community Foundation.

This newly-established foundation was born out of the need and desire to help local cancer patients and their families in their fight with this deadly disease.

Local breast cancer survivors and dear friends, Lisa Willman and Julie Pfeifer, came to realize that everyone deals with diagnosis, treatment and survivorship differently. Their hope is to provide not only emotional support, but to have funds available through the foundation to assist with unique financial obligations and unmet needs for those fighting ALL types of cancer.

How can you help support the GRACE Foundation?

Women of the Year

When Julie Pfeifer was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2004, she was scared and didn’t know what to expect.

Eighteen months later, another woman in her social circle was also diagnosed and Pfeifer and Lisa Willman began to look to each other for support. “Now we’re more like sisters,” Willman said.
